Sparked by the censorship of Natural Born Killers and the subsequent copycat killers, Ben Elton’s play dissects the question of whether those who make art about violence are therefore responsible for killers who justify their actions by blaming the works as inspiration. A director who wins an Oscar is held up by two killers who have gone on a spree recreating killings hold him hostage and attempt to have him take blame for their actions.
